Skype Distance Learning Focusing Course
Wednesday afternoons 2pm – 5pm
Starting 15 September 2010
This is a pilot project of distance learning through using Skype, which is free to use. For 2 - 5 people maximum.
This distance learning opportunity is for you:
If you can’t get away at weekends If you can’t travel to courses If you would prefer to learn in shorter weekly chunks If you would prefer to learn Focusing without leaving the comfort of your own home
It works by Skype conference call, and although you cannot see the others, you can hear everyone. The training is the Focusing Skills Certificate Course, which leads to a Certificate in Focusing skills and is the foundation for professional training. It is divided into a series of 4 x half-days of 3 hours each. Then there is a break for a month for you to integrate what you have learned and for practice. There follows another series of 4 weekly seminars, which comprise the next Level or module. There are five modules in total, so the course will take several months to complete. Focusing works best when you learn and absorb slowly, over a period of time.
After introductions and meeting the others on the course, you learn the specifics of Focusing, hear a demonstration or try an exercise and get instructions for practice. Then you ring off and call one of the other people for a short practice session. After the session we come back together as a group, hear how it went, any feedback and learning to share and further discussions.
The Focusing Student's and Companion's Manual by Barbara McGavin and Ann Weiser Cornell costs £34.50 and is a requirement for the course.
The cost is £100 each module, or if you pay at the time of booking you are entitled to a £50 discount, so you only pay £450 for the full course. Register here. When you have registered please send £50 deposit or the full amount. Thanks.
